Who benefits by attending?

Most of the courses are intended for engineers and technologists who have some relevant experience and basic scientific or engineering background. The emphasis is on practical benefits that can be achieved from an enhanced understanding of test methods, measurements, calculations and simulations. In most cases these are achieved using scripts that are freely available on this Internet site, and computer spreadsheets written for demonstration purposes for the course. These can be made specific to your industry or separation (see below).

Please note that all the software and utilities used on the course are freely available and there is no attempt made to use the course as a sales pitch for other material.

Course Language

All courses are delivered in English.

Course Content

Each course is tailored towards the requirements of the participants. Normally, preliminary contact is used to obtain data from the participants for modelling and the models constructed using standard PC spreadsheets. The models are explained and discussed in the lectures and workshops, but not derived; i.e. emphasis is on their use.

Delivery Methods

Each participant receives a copy of the spreadsheets on a disc, together with a printout of the Powerpoint slides used and a course textbook. A mixture of lectures and workshops are used to discuss the topics with either dataprojector delivery from a PC or slides and overheads. There is adequate time devoted to problem solving and informal discussions.
A course evaluation form is always provided to enable feedback.

These courses have been running since 1988 and have been delivered in many European countries including: Denmark, Germany, Italy, Netherlands, Sweden and U.K.
We will consider running these courses at any location worldwide.

Costs

Travel and accommodation are at cost, the daily rate for the speakers depends upon the requirements, number of delegates and course location. Typical costs are £200 per day per delegate (for delegates from separate companies), or a block rate of £800 per day for the lecturer(s). A V.A.T. invoice can be issued if required and attendance certificates.
